Ingredients:
  • 1000 grams mutton, cut into pieces
  • 4 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder

  • 1 and half tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup cooking oil or ghee
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 2 green chilli
  • A piece of chopped ginger
Instructions:

Add half cup of water in pressure cooker.
Add onion and 1 kg mutton.
Cover the lid and let it to reach boiling point.
Now add ginger, garlic paste, turmeric powder, and salt to taste.
Mix well to coat the mutton with the spices.
Cover it with the pressure cooker lid. Note the time from the first whistle of the pressure cooker, and cook for 5 minutes.
Turn off the flame. Let the pressure cooker steam out, and then open the lid.
Check the mutton to see if it is tender enough, and then turn on the flame. Now adjust the flame according to the tenderness of the mutton.
If it is tender enough, then cook on high flame to dry.
Add cumin seeds and chopped tomatoes; cover for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add red chilli powder and coriander powder.
When the water is as dry as you like, turn the flame to medium.
Add cooking oil and cook for 2 to 3 minute.
Once the mutton is cooked, sprinkle garam masala powder over it and mix well. Let it simmer for a few more minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, green chilli, and ginger slices.
