Beef Tikka BBQ Karahi is a mouthwatering fusion dish that combines the flavors of beef tikka and karahi with a BBQ twist. Tender chunks of marinated beef, infused with aromatic spices, are grilled to perfection. The smoky and charred beef tikka is then cooked in a rich and flavorful karahi gravy, typically made with tomatoes, onions, and spices. The combination of the smoky beef karahi and the tangy karahi gravy creates a unique and tantalizing flavor profile. This dish is often served hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves, ginger and green chilli, and accompanied by naan bread or rice. It's a delightful blend of traditional and BBQ flavors, perfect for meat lovers seeking a unique and delicious culinary experience.
- 500 grams beef, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup oil or ghee
- 2 medium onion
- 2 medium tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed red chili
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
- ½ Lemon
1 small piece of charcoal
Instructions:
Cut onion, tomatoes put in a blender add ginger garlic and blend. Paste is ready.
Put beef in a bowl add onion tomatoes paste, crushed chilli, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt to taste, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, and mix well. Leave it to marinate for 1 to 2 hours.
Put marinated beef in a pressure cooker, turn on the flame and cook for 3 to 4 minute.
Add a cup of water and cover with pressure cooker lid.
Cook for 10 minute and count time from the first whistle.
After 10 minute turn off the flame and release steam then open the lid.
Check beef, if it is tender enough, turn on the flame and cook on high flame to reduce water.
When water is dry enough add ½ cup cooking oil and cumin seeds and cook for 3 minute or 4.
While the beef is cooking, prepare the smoky flavor. Take a small piece of charcoal and heat it over direct flame until it turns red-hot.
Place a small aluminum foil piece in the center of the beef curry and put the hot charcoal in it. Drizzle oil or ghee over the charcoal. Immediately cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid to trap the smoke.
Let the curry sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the smoky flavor.
Remove the charcoal and discard it carefully. Be cautious as it will still be hot.
Add green chilli and fresh coriander, Cook the beef curry for a few more minutes until the flavors blend together.
Serve beef karahi hot with naan bread or steamed rice. Accompany it with lemon wedges for an extra tangy flavor.
Do try it on Bakra Eid.
