Here's a easy recipe for chicken samosas:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground chicken
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
20-25 samosa wrappers
Oil for frying
Instructions:
Over medium heat, warm the oil in a large skillet. Cook the onions and garlic together for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are transparent.
Add the ground chicken, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook until the chicken is browned, breaking up any large chunks with a wooden spoon, about 10 minutes.
Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and stir until the water has evaporated and the chicken mixture is moist but not watery, about 5 minutes.
Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the chicken mixture to cool to room temperature.
Preheat the oil for frying in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F.
To assemble the samosas, take one samosa wrapper and place a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle and seal the edges with a little water.
Repeat with the remaining samosa wrappers and chicken mixture.
Fry the samosas in the hot oil until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Chicken Samosas are taken out of the oil and set on a tray covered with paper towels to absorb any extra oil.
Serve hot with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce.
